Thanks Guys...

Thank you all for your kind words and direction with my confusion on this training stuff. It means a lot to me to have your great advice. You are the best!
I did take some time off from training.
Not quite as planned though.
I think I'm more exhausted and worn out than if I would have worked out without any time off.
Some of you know, I was derailed again.
This time with a family member in the hospital.
And when you spend 8-12 hours a day for 5 days, it tends to wear a girl out.
Why is that? All I did was sit on my arse.
But hopefully now, things will return to normal.
I didn't get to ride Lizard Under the Skillet on Sunday. It was rained out.
I'm even more confused now if I want to continue with this training.
Tomorrow I'll attempt a short workout and see how things go.
I have about a month til race day, so we'll take it one day at a time.
Thank you again for all the kind words. It means the world to me.
Hopefully this will be the last whiney post for a long, long time.

  1. Kim- I just caught on some of your past posts. OMG... you are going through so much right now. Like it says in the Bible, "Don't run faster then you have strength"
be careful and put your health and happiness first. I am sure your time off was much needed. I know my few weeks off was much needed.

  2. Being worried about someone is exhausting. Sitting around entertaining them and trying to figure out what's going on is also exhausting. I wish I could just give you a hug!

  3. See...this is why I love you guys! You two just made me smile.

Janice-Thanks for the Bible quote. Something probably a lot of us need to remember.

    And Sarah-Got your hug.

  4. Aw honey! I just got caught up on reading some of yr past posts. Sounds like you are on stress-overdrive. I find that when life is too stressful, having to concentrate on a training plan makes me crazier, so I run when I want to run and stop when I feel like it, and I do that until things turn back around. I'm sending you not-so-long distance hugs, and hoping things get so much calmer for you.

  6. The good news is...it will be there once you are ready to tackle it again. Until then just do what makes you feel best and of course rant/rave or whatever you'd like to all of us!

  8. Oy, Kim, I'm so sorry to hear... it really is amazing how exhausting camping out in a hospital can be. Definitely don't beat yourself up about the training. It'll come. I hope that your family is safe and recovering from whatever's going on, and that you all get a chance to relax. Sheesh, what a month!
