A Little Bit of This...A Little Bit of That

On the Workout Front:
Osana must have been in a better mood today as I was able to get 20 miles in on bike today.
With no flat tires or mishaps.
I was very pleased with my pace.
Being out on the bike felt great.
I even lapped two women.
And I could have easily gone another 20.
I'm very happy considering this is my 3rd outside bike of the season.
Getting a little more confident in my riding each time I get on the bike.

This is me, last night, learning how to change a tire.
After a pitcher of margaritas.
Luckily, all went well today.

On the Home Front:
I bought Mols an adorable hooded sweatshirt. When we took it to the counter, the checker was astonished. "Is this for your doogggg? How big is she? OMG!" I assured her it was for our dog, as the back of the sweatshirt says 'Athletic Dog'. Duhh. Alright now. Lay off. This may be an XXL but she's in better shape than you are, Sunshine. Of course, this is for the winter, but when I saw it, I couldn't pass it up. Especially since she has walked over 140 miles since January already and when I took her to the vet last week, all the vet could say was, "wow...she really is an athlete".

She's not too hip on it quite yet...

Then it was time to take a few family pictures. It's pretty easy to tell who thinks they need to be the center of our world. Literally.

And then this is Doug's new rain chain he made. He removed one of our gutters and replaced it with the rain chain. It's supposed to sound amazing as the rain drips down.

  2. No...actually it's pretty easy. I think! I hope I remember how to change it when the need comes again and pray that those weren't the brain cells that got killed drinking margaritas!

  3. Rain chain - how cool! I've never heard of this, but we have serious problems with out gutters, so I may have to do a little bit of research about how these might stack up.

  7. Seriously, your dog is the best. What training method do you follow? I did the Ryan Hall half marathon chart. Do you abstain from fried food and alcohol etc? I don't usually eat fried food, but I feel like I've gained a bit of weight with running (I know I know not supposed to be about the weight) but I want to maintain my clothing size! ;-) Just wanted to know what your take on a "training lifestyle" is. Plus, I'm toying with doing a marathon, but I'm just not sure if I would be able to do it since I've been recovering for so long after the half.

  8. love the fam pics :) i don't know if i can get into biking b/c of all the mechanical problems you have to learn to deal with. running only involves tying your shoe which i can at least re-do 10 times on a run :)

  9. Something I have yet to do on my own. I will be stuck one of these days miles away from home with a flat.

Loving the rain chain, what a fab idea :)

  10. I've been a vegetarian for a long time so I didn't try to white castle hamburgers, but Brent did, and he wasn't so impressed. Maybe they were the frozen ones, too :)

  13. WEllll...I did an 8 mile run last week but I don't think I'm overtraining...my husby made me take off this weekend because I was sore. I think the soreness may be from wearing heels or unsupportive flats to work...I'm a teacher and my principal is going through a "dress professional" phase. I'm toying with a marathon...just don't know if my body can handle it. I may try some more halves beforehand. Can I bounce more ideas off you? You seem pretty experienced.

  14. Kristin-You can certainly bounce ideas off me. I tried to get to your blog and it says your profile is blocked. If you want to email me, you can at kim.greer@yahoo.com.

  15. I really love the 'why I run' on the side of your blog...that's awesome. I don't think I've ever actually taken the time to think about that...but I think now I'm going to make my own and stick it to my mirror! :)
    p.s. LOVE your puppy!
