News Story on Local TNT'er-Check Out the Video!

Below is a news story on Jeff Davidson. He is a team member with our local Team In Training chapter. He just finished the Hy-Vee Triathlon in Des Moines, IA (really the duathlon since they cancelled the swim due to flooding). You have to Check Out the Video (where it shows Action News KSHB-TV Always On-to the right of the news story). Be sure to have a tissue handy!

Local Father Raises Money to Find a Cure

One local man participates in triathlons to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as his son fights Leukemia back home. Jeff Davidson completed three Olympic distance triathlons with Team in Training last year and raised more than $12,000 dollars for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. He does it all for his son. Jeff's son, Zach, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia at 3 years and 10 months old on November 8, 2006. Jeff said Zach is in remission and has been in treatment for roughly 18 months. His overall treatment plan will be just over 3 years, but credits Zach's success with his fight of Leukemia to fundraising and research. Jeff got involved with the largest endurance sport organization in the United States , Team In Training, because of their involvement with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Their involvement with blood cancer research in children is paramount in finding a cure. Jeff answered a postcard in the mail about 2 months after he was diagnosed.

Have a great weekend!
