I Don't Get It

Last night at weight training class, we headed outside for our usual stair and ramp routine, when yet again, there was a group of parents sitting under the shade tree shooting the breeze with each other while their kids are at track practice. That's all fine and dandy but what I don't get is why aren't these parents out on the track exercising as well? A lot of parents whine and cry that they 'don't have the time' to exercise but they can sit around under the shade tree for over an hour shooting the bull? Why not get their butt on the track and exercise while it's right there in your face? Am I missing something? I don't get it...

Okay...enough of not understanding others. I'm heading to the pool for a few laps. Have a great afternoon!

  2. I totally agree. But it isn't that way everywhere - here is a link to a cool program in Lawrence that sometimes has 4 generations of the same family working out together... I'll be blogging on this soon.

  3. Since you don't know the whole story, I wouldn't jump to conclusions. Perhaps they worked out in the morning and are just enjoying some adult time and a well deserved break.

  5. I'm editing my last comment (I deleted) to be a nicer person! Anonymous-IF you would have read the blog CORRECTLY you would have read..."parents whine and cry that they 'don't have the time' to exercise". Usually they are not whining and crying they don't have time to exercise IF they already did that morning. Ya think? So...go play in your own empty sandbox and make excuses with the best of them! XOXO

  7. Great post Kim, and I totally agree. We can all make time if we make it a priority.

  8. Coach Ken-LOL! You weren't supposed to see that!

Jenny-That's an awesome story. If more families would do that then we wouldn't have a population in the US that is 60% overweight.

Marci-Agree with you 100%. If you deem it important enough-you will find the time. Sometimes it's not easy-but you have to make the commitment.

  11. Give a busy person something extra to do and it will get done.

I agree Kim, just like all things in life, if it is truly something you really want to do, you find the way to do it!

    Keep up the spirit Girl!!!
