Tuna to Buddah to Barbados

I love me some BumbleBee's Spicy Thai tuna. However, do NOT eat it for lunch, right before a run. It gives you massive heartburn. I seriously thought flames were going to Burst.Out.Of.My.Chest.

Sunday I was a guest at a Buddhist Community Center. I am taking a World Religions class at school and this was one of our assignments. I have always wanted to visit a Buddhist Temple and learn more about the Buddhist way but just never have. I'm so glad this was an assignment, that way it pushed me out there to do it. I loved it. Loved the people. Loved their way. Loved their reason.

And onto Barbados. Run Like a Girl and Ramblings of a Running Addict are raising funds to run a marathon in Barbados. How fabulous is that! They are hosting a Virtual Run to raise money for the Arthritis Foundation as part of Joints in Motion. Please stop by their blogs for more info. Should be a great time and it's for a great cause.

  4. I think I need to try that tuna but I swear I've never seen it in the store!

Buddhism - I lived in Asia for a year, and have been back several times. The dedication that te hard core believers have, puts Westerners to shame!

Good call out on the fund raising!

I took World Religion as well, you will love it. Really makes you think and appreciate the strength of people's belief...

  7. Anonymous-We don't belong to a running group at this time. Doug used to be the coach with Team in Training for a while and we ran with them for years-but haven't recently.

Not sure what part of town you're in. There are several running groups around...Olathe Running Club, Trail Nerds (if you're interested in running trails, Runner's Edge, Personal Best, Blue Springs Runners).

Good Luck with Hospital Hill! It's a great race and a lot of fun. Do you have your training schedule and such?

  8. I'm doing the Novice run plan on Hospital Hill's web site I just want to finish! I was just wondering because I'm constantly training A) by myself and B) with no real routes I'm not real fond of running outside a ton by myself for miles and miles lol I am really excited to run I was supposed to do Olathe but a knee injury pushed back training and Hospital Hill was the next run on the list. I'm getting very excited I definitely do not plan on this being my last race.
