Peeved

Okay...so this isn't the first non related running post I've written. But this is a little more off track than normal.

I usually overpay my Kansas taxes...enough to know I won't have to pay. Not by a humongous amount-but enough to smile when my check gets delivered. I normally love my great state of Kansas. But I'm not so happy with our lovely Democratic Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.

She is suspending our Kansas income tax returns. Can you believe that crap?? It's MY money. You OWE me, Kansas. I did not loan the money to you to borrow and to keep until you had money to repay me. If I owed you, you would make me pay, even if I didn't have the money. Do I get to charge you interest off the money you owe me?

  1. Seems a little one sided if you ask me. Maybe they can return the favour? Somehow I don't think so. Grrr!

  2. Man that would piss me off.

Sounds like it is time for some massive email campaign to your state government.

  3. Yea, could you believe that? My wife called me at work to tell me the news. Luckily when she checked the bank account, they'd paid our refund. We filed early last week so we must have just barely made the cutoff. Some notice would have been nice for people, though, don't you think?

  7. oh man... that sucks. Mu hubby is an accountant and he does the same thing, pays just enough so that we dont have to pay this time of year but usually get a tiny check back. What KS is doing is just wrong....

  10. That's nuts! Can they do that? I've read that FDR confiscated everybody's gold during the Great Depression, so I guess this isn't as extreme, but talk about a lack of trust building and public consultation. Hope you get your money sometime.
